  • Jaipur old city
  • Jodhpur blue lanes
  • Mehrangarh Fort
  • Jaisalmer Fort
  • Thar Desert safari

03The itinerary

The story of your journey, one day at a time.

Every day can bend: slower mornings, extra nights, a detour you hear about on the road. This is the shape of it.

  1. The pink honeycomb facade of Hawa Mahal in Jaipur's old city

    Jaipur

Day 1 of 7, Arrive: Into the Pink City

The first thing you notice is the colour. Then the noise, then the smell of cardamom from a chai stall you'll come back to tomorrow. We meet you on arrival, settle you into a heritage haveli and take an unhurried evening walk while the old city's walls turn from pink to rose-gold.

    • Heritage haveli stay
    • Evening walk through the old city

    Overnight: Jaipur

  2. Amber Fort's honey-coloured ramparts rising above the hills outside Jaipur

    Amber & Old Jaipur

Day 2 of 7, Explore: Ramparts before the crowds

Reach Amber Fort early, while the light is low and the courtyards still echo. The afternoon belongs to the old city: Hawa Mahal's latticed windows, block-printing workshops, and the kind of bazaar bargaining that ends in laughter and another cup of tea.

    • Early entry at Amber Fort
    • Block-printing workshop
    • Bazaar walk with a local guide

    Overnight: Jaipur

  3. Mehrangarh Fort towering on its rock above Jodhpur

    Jaipur → Jodhpur

Day 3 of 7, Drive: Sunset over the Blue City

Open Rajasthan unrolls outside the window: mustard fields, roadside dhabas, camels sharing the highway. You arrive in Jodhpur in time to climb to a rooftop and watch a sea of blue houses catch the last of the sun beneath Mehrangarh.

    • Scenic road journey
    • Rooftop sunset

    Overnight: Jodhpur

  4. A narrow indigo lane in the Blue City of Jodhpur

    Mehrangarh & the old lanes

Day 4 of 7, Wander: A fort, then a food trail

Mehrangarh is one of India's most dramatic forts — stand on its walls and the whole city spreads out like spilled indigo. Later, a local host leads you through the lanes below on a food trail: mirchi vada, makhaniya lassi, and a story at every corner.

    • Guided visit to Mehrangarh
    • Old-city food trail

    Overnight: Jodhpur

  5. Carved sandstone pavilions on the still water of Gadisar Lake, Jaisalmer

    Jodhpur → Jaisalmer

Day 5 of 7, Drive: Towards the golden city

The land flattens, the colours warm and the sky gets bigger. Jaisalmer rises out of the desert like a sandcastle that decided to stay. Spend the evening at Gadisar Lake, where carved pavilions float on still water.

    • Gadisar Lake at golden hour

    Overnight: Jaisalmer

  6. A camel and rider silhouetted against a burning orange desert sunset near Jaisalmer

    Thar Desert

Day 6 of 7, Disappear: A night beneath the stars

Walk the lanes of Jaisalmer's living fort in the morning, then leave the road behind. Head out to the dunes for sunset, eat dinner by the fire to the sound of folk musicians, and step away from the camp lights to see more stars than you knew existed.

    • Jaisalmer Fort walk
    • Sunset in the dunes
    • Folk music & dinner at camp

    Overnight: Desert camp

  7. A lone desert tree on the Sam sand dunes at dusk

    The dunes

Day 7 of 7, Linger: Sand in your shoes

Wake early for sunrise over the dunes, wrapped in a blanket with a cup of chai. A slow breakfast, then the drive back to Jaisalmer for your onward journey — with sand in your shoes and a story you'll be telling for years.

    • Desert sunrise
    • Transfer to Jaisalmer
